Nightmarish Conjurings

A little goes a long way in Alien Party Crashers. The humor, I think, is great. It is that dry British humor that you either love or hate, and I personally really enjoy it.

even as Canaries gently ribs the absurd banalities of Welsh village life, it also puts Cwmtwrch (literally) on the map of world affairs, and allows for some gentle satire on the unequal basis of the UK's 'special relationship' with the US.

I liked this type of humor. There are some funny lines that could become classic. The song, "Are you Scottish? No..." "I guess by now you know I don't work for a travel agent." Also, "Off topic, off topic." The Welsh accent jokes. And the aliens in yellow slickers. Lots more.

I was expecting this to be terrible, it isn't. OK, the aliens are blokes sprayed blue wearing yellow raincoats and marigolds, but it is a light-hearted and fun.

Terrible movie. Bad plot, special effects, script and acting. I had to force myself to finish watching it only for it to say "To be continued". Needless to say I won't watch sequel (though it's doubtful they'll make one).
