Khalid Maadour

Khalid Maadour is one of a limited group of French actors hailing from the Arab world. Although he was born in Morocco, his family moved to France when he was only a few years old. Once the young Maadour chose to pursue a career in entertainment, his progress was relatively quick. While still in his early 20s, he won a part as an Arab character in one episode of serial "Julie Lescaut," the long-running police procedural about the titular female detective. His next roles were in movies, specifically 2001's "Les fantomes de Louba" and the outrageous action comedy "Dead Weight" (2002). On the latter film, in addition to acting Maadour also stepped behind the camera for the first time as a trainee assistant director. Several years later, he was assistant director on the 2006 TV movie "Pour l'amour de Dieu," a drama about a love affair doomed by the pull of radical Islam. In addition to his duties behind the camera on that production, Maadour also played the supporting role of Salah. For the most part, however, he has stuck to acting, picking up regular roles in numerous French movies, TV films and series. Among the more high-profile productions he has appeared in was the World War II espionage comedy "OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies" (2006).
