Laurence Cordier is a French actress who has been featured in numerous films and TV movies. After attending drama school in Paris, Cordier soon began winning screen roles, appearing in writer/director Benoît Jacquot's well-received 2004 drama "Right Now," which focuses on young lovers on the wrong side of the law. Cordier developed an artistic bond with Jacquot, leading to her involvement in later collaborations, most notably the 2010 made-for-television film "The Counterfeiters," a movie about restless, criminally inclined youth and based on the controversial novel by revered author André Gide. She has also worked on multiple occasions with veteran TV director Jean-Daniel Verhaeghe, appearing with Gérard Depardieu and Charles Berling in "L'abolition," the story of lawyer Robert Badinter and his crusade to end France's death penalty. Cordier gained wider exposure in the French/Spanish co-production "In the City of Sylvia," a thoughtful 2007 independent drama that received numerous accolades, and she was also featured in the dramatic TV movie "Un singe sur le dos." While furthering her screen career, Cordier has remained very active on the theater stage, appearing in performances of Anton Chekov's "The Three Sisters" and Bertolt Brecht's "The Wedding," both directed by Patrick Pineau, another one of the actress' kindred spirits.
