American actress Elizabeth Keifer has spent the majority of her career appearing on hit television series. Her ambition sprouted in childhood, as her extroverted older sister, who performed in community theater, would recruit her for any role that required a child actor. Soon Keifer was hooked on acting, and it inevitably transformed into a serious pursuit. The California native studied her craft in Los Angeles at the Academy of Stage and Cinema Arts and the University of California. An appearance on an episode of "Happy Days" in 1981 marked the beginning of her career on television. She followed this with brief guest appearances on other hit comedy series, including "Cheers," "Full House" and "Married... With Children." Sitcoms, however, would not prove to be Keifer's specialty. Rather, it was in the realm of daytime television that she would establish herself. Initially, Keifer followed a similar trend to her sitcom appearances, assuming brief roles in prominent soap operas such as "General Hospital" and "One Life to Live." It was in 1992 that her big break arrived, when she filled the role of Blake on "Guiding Light," the longest-running drama series in history (15 years as a radio broadcast, 57 years as a television program). Keifer played Blake in 192 episodes of "Guiding Light," until its cancellation in 2009, after which she immediately joined the cast of the web drama "Venice: The Series" and appeared in "Morning Glory," a 2010 feature comedy starring Rachel McAdams, Harrison Ford, and Diane Keaton.
