Known for his especially round face, actor Luc Palun has developed an impressive résumé of film and television appearances as one of French cinema's more memorable character actors, having amassed more than 80 credits. Becoming a performer relatively late in life, Luc landed his first role in the 1989 short film "Ce Qui Me Meut," directed by Cédric Klapisch. More work quickly followed, and by the end of 1994--just five short years after he entered the business--Luc already had an astounding 20 credits to his name. The remainder of the 1990s was dominated mostly by TV movies and guest spots on popular TV shows like the crime series "Un Homme en Colére." But by dawning of the new century, Luc's profile received a welcome boost thanks to a recurring role in the 2001 miniseries "Rastignac ou les Ambitieux," and more importantly, his turn as a kindly grocer in Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Oscar-nominated comedy "Amélie." Since then, Luc has continued to work on a regular basis, averaging at least four projects a year and even landing a role in his first Hollywood film: "Julie & Julia."
