Catherine Shoard Guardian When the chief baddie both stutters and slaughters puppies, you know you're in trouble. Rated: 2/5 Sep 2, 2010 Full Review Jason Goodyer Little White Lies A generic, derivative gangster yarn. Rated: 2/5 Sep 2, 2010 Full Review David Gritten Daily Telegraph (UK) Its many memorable characters, adrenalin-charged action sequences and heart-stopping car chases make for a guilty pleasure. Rated: 3/5 Sep 2, 2010 Full Review Rich Cline Shadows on the Wall As violent as this mob thriller is, it also has a terrific sense of its central characters, focussing on strong emotions and moral decisions. And even though it's overcomplicated, the result is a sleek and very classy. Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 9, 2010 Full Review Ellen E Jones Total Film Without a compelling plot to hold our attention, this only amounts to an impressively bloody bullet-a-thon: 22 seems a very conservative estimate... Rated: 3/5 Sep 9, 2010 Full Review Daily Express (UK) An unremarkable French thriller that feels like a Seventies Charles Bronson effort. Sep 7, 2010 Full Review Read all reviews

Liam D An surprisingly artistic Revenge Thriller with amazing performances by Jean Reno (Subway, The Visitors) and Kad Merad (Little Nicolas, The Well Digger's Daughter) plus a great score by Klaus Badelt (Dragon Hunters, Jock the Hero Dog) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/02/24 Full Review Diana M Charly Matteï was a mafia Godfather in Paris, the last of his kind. But three years ago he retired and sold his business to his lifelong friend Tony Zacchia. Charly just wanted to live a peaceful life with his family.... And he did for a while. Until one day, in a underground parking garage, he is ambushed by an eight-man hit squad... all in black hoods. Charly is shot 22 times and left for dead. Oh but Charly does not die, he survives. Now who ordered the hit and why? "I'm in a strange business. Once you're in, that's it, You can't get out." - Charly For Charly it is all about loyalty and honor, well honor amongst thieves. He quietly begins to search for the shooters but without anymore bloodshed. But his mercy looks weak on him and the mob goes after Charly, his friends, and the final straw, his family. Now they have crossed the line. Charly is out for revenge. He discovers the shooters and Charly confronts them at a restaurant. They are having a birthday celebration and he enters with grenade in one hand and a gun in the other. Charly announces that he will kill everyone of them one by one... And they will not know the day or time. "I'm going to kill all of you. One after the other. And when you're least expecting it.... I'll be there." - Charly Then the hunt begins as Charly goes on a bloody violent one man killing spree. I only watched 22 Bullets because I really like Jean Reno and Luc Besson... And it is does not disappoint. This isn't just any French gangster flick. It is a stylish bloody revenge thriller that holds nothing back, but the story is personal and sentimental. Jean Reno is absolutely brilliant. as as the ex-mafia boss that just wants to live the rest of his life in peace with his family but is forced back into a world of violence. "Now we're even" - Charly Cast - Jean Reno, Kad Merad, Richard Berry, Marina Foïs, Claude Gensac, Jean-Pierre Darroussin Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/03/23 Full Review Alain M french thrillers like they don't make em anymore in the US Rated 4 out of 5 stars 08/23/23 Full Review tom w I am a big Jean Reno fan and this movie did not disappoint. I enjoyed the action & the scenes of Marseilles. I do not pretend to be a professional critic. I just relate my own experience. Please feel free to disagree.
