Marty Robbins
Marty Robbins earned a special place in Hollywood for his large variety of musical contributions to film. Robbins had an early acting career in film, appearing in such titles as "The Ballad of a Gunfighter" (1963), "Hell on Wheels" (1967) and "Guns of a Stranger" (1973). Robbins worked in television around the start of his acting career with a role on "Dean Martin Presents Music Country, U.S.A." (1972-73). During his budding acting career, Robbins also contributed music for the adaptation "The Hanging Tree" (1959) with Gary Cooper and the action movie "43, the Petty Story" (1972) with Darren McGavin. In the seventies and the nineties, Robbins devoted his time to various credits, such as "The 11th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards" (ABC, 1975-76), "The Marty Robbins Spotlite," "Honkytonk Man" (1982) starring Clint Eastwood, "The Academy of Country Music's 20th Anniversary Reunion" (NBC, 1985-86), "Late For Dinner" (1991) and "A Perfect World" with Kevin Costner (1993). Robbins had a number of different projects under his belt in the nineties through the early 2000s, including "All-Time Legends of Country Music -- A Best of Austin City Limits Special" (PBS, 1996-97), "Going All the Way" (1997) starring Jeremy Davies, "Anchorman" (2004), "Daltry Calhoun" with Johnny Knoxville (2005), "Glory Road" (2006) starring Josh Lucas and "Lucky You" (2007). Most recently, Robbins provided music for the Jim Carrey comedy sequel "Dumb and Dumber To" (2014).
