      Birthplace: Paris, France

French actor Michel Subor has acted in nearly 60 French and American screen projects, including over two dozen feature films. He first made waves at the age of 24 with his role as Bruno Pittuiti, a handsome Gypsy guitarist on a mission to seduce a wealthy young woman, in the 1959 film "Mon Pote le Gitan." The next year, Subor was cast as the lead in Jean-Luc Godard's war drama "The Little Soldier," in which he played opposite Anna Karina in her first movie role. It would be three years before "The Little Soldier" was released in theaters, but in the meantime Subor did not experience a career lull--in fact, he was propelled to stardom in 1961 after playing the lover of Brigitte Bardot in the sexy comedy "Please, Not Now!" Subor provided the narrator's voice in François Truffaut's 1962 love-triangle drama "Jules and Jim" and portrayed the leading role of Roger in 1964's "Anatomy of a Marriage." The following year, Subor transitioned to Hollywood and landed a major role in "What's New Pussycat?," alongside Peter Sellers, Peter O'Toole, and Woody Allen, as well as in Alfred Hitchcock's 1969 Cold War-themed thriller "Topaz." Subor spent the next three decades focusing on his television career, starring in many French series and TV movies. In 1999, he made his return to feature films with the role of Commander Bruno Forestier in the psychological military drama "Beau Travail."
