Neil Affleck
Canadian actor, director, and animator Neil Affleck has made his mark on the worlds of both movies and television since his feature film debut, a bit part in the 1980 comedy "Oh Heavenly Dog" starring Benji and Chevy Chase. The following year, Affleck played another small role in the cult horror classic "Scanners" before being cast in the role that would become the biggest of his acting career, that of Axel Palmer in the 1981 slasher movie "My Bloody Valentine." Proving adept at the horror genre, Affleck went on to play supporting roles in 1982's "Visiting Hours" and "Murder by Phone" before switching gears and focusing instead on animation work in the 1990s and 2000s. Getting his start at the Canadian animation company Nelvana, Affleck found work as an animation timer in such series as "Rocko's Modern Life," "The Critic," and "The Simpsons," a series he would also frequently direct from 1997 to 2000. In 1999, Affleck directed two episodes of the popular primetime cartoon "Family Guy," and from 2004 to 2009, he directed the children's series "Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends," a show that gave him the chance to work with his "My Bloody Valentine" co-star Keith Knight, who played the voice of Frank.
