Three-time BAFTA nominated actor, Nicholas Lyndhurst attended the Corona Stage Academy in west London. He began his screen career at the age of 12 with a small role in the historical drama "The Nelson Affair." As a teen he turned up in a string of U.K. produced adaptations, including "Heidi," " Anne of Avonlea," and"The Prince and the Pauper," on which he played both of the title characters. He successfully transitioned from child actor to adult TV presence with roles in the ex-con comedy series "Going Straight," and later in the hustling brothers sitcom " Only Fools and Horses." On the latter he played the hapless Rodney for 10 years, earning much acclaim including BAFTA nods in 1987, 1991, and 1997. He then landed some key roles, including Peter 'Piglet' Chapman on the zany spy sitcom "The Piglet Files" and as Gary Sparrow in the time-travel comedy series "Goodnight Sweetheart." Lyndhurst simultaneously pursued theater and film work, and can be seen in such sweeping movie adaptations as "David Copperfield," based on Charles Dickens' classic novel, and "Gulliver's Travels," inspired by the satirical work of Jonathan Swift. In 2007 he returned to the BBC in the sitcom "After You've Gone," where he portrayed divorced and single father Jimmy Venables. Lyndhurst lives in Sussex, England, with his wife and son, Archie.
