Nolan Leary
Nolan Leary was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Leary began his acting career with roles in such films as the Don "Red" Barry western "Days of Old Cheyenne" (1943), "The Tiger Woman" (1944) and the Rosemary LaPlanche horror film "Devil Bat's Daughter" (1946). He also appeared in the Burt Lancaster crime feature "The Killers" (1946) and the Charles Starrett western "West of Dodge City" (1947). His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like "Follow Me Quietly" (1949), "The Accused" (1949) and "Between Midnight and Dawn" (1950). He also appeared in "The Prince Who Was a Thief" (1951) with Tony Curtis and "There's No Business Like Show Business" (1954). He also lent his voice to "Act of Violence" (1948). Toward the end of his career, he tackled roles in the adaptation "Tall Man Riding" (1955) with Randolph Scott, the James Cagney biopic "Man of a Thousand Faces" (1957) and "Ten North Frederick" (1958) with Gary Cooper. He also appeared in the drama "Pollyanna" (1960) with Hayley Mills and the adaptation "Sweet Charity" (1969) with Shirley MacLaine. Leary more recently appeared in "A Family Upside Down" (NBC, 1977-78). Leary passed away in December 1987 at the age of 98.
