Peter Capell
Peter Capell was a prolific actor who created a name for himself largely on the big screen. In his early acting career, Capell appeared in such films as the Dan Duryea crime adaptation "The Burglar" (1957), the Kirk Douglas dramatic adaptation "Paths of Glory" (1958) and "Come Prima" (1959) with Mario Lanza. He also appeared in "I Aim at the Stars" (1960), "Armored Command" (1961) with Howard Keel and the James Cagney comedic adaptation "One, Two, Three" (1961). He continued to act in productions like the Esther Williams adventurous drama "The Big Show" (1961), the William Holden dramatic adaptation "The Counterfeit Traitor" (1962) and "I Deal in Danger" (1966). He also appeared in "Assignment K" (1968) and "Schuler-Report-Junge, Junge, was die Madchen alles von uns Wollen!" (1971). His work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "Hauser's Memory" (NBC, 1970-71). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the family "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" (1971) with Gene Wilder, the drama "Sorcerer" (1977) with Roy Scheider and the drama "Fedora" (1978) with Marthe Keller. He also appeared in the drama "Charlotte" (1981) with Birgit Doll and the Diane Keaton thriller "The Little Drummer Girl" (1984). He also had a part in the TV miniseries "Holocaust -- The Story of the Family Weiss" (1977-78). Capell last appeared in "Wallenberg: A Hero's Story" (1984-85). Capell passed away in March 1986 at the age of 74.
