British-born director Robert Fuest had success directing for the big screen. Fuest directed a variety of independent films early on in his Hollywood career, including such titles as "And Soon the Darkness" (1970) with Pamela Franklin, the historical love story "Wuthering Heights" (1970) with Anna Calder-Marshall and "The Abominable Doctor Phibes" (1971) with Vincent Price. Fuest's directing also included some work for the small screen with the series "The Avengers" (ABC, 1965-1970). As a well-rounded director, Fuest directed some television shows, such as "The Avengers" (ABC, 1965-1970). He continued to work in film in the seventies, directing motion pictures like "Doctor Phibes Rises Again" (1972), "The Last Days of Man on Earth" (1973) with Jon Finch and the action flick "The Devil's Rain" (1975) with Ernest Borgnine. Fuest last directed "Mystery at Fire Island" (CBS, 1981-82). Fuest passed away in March 2012 at the age of 85.
