Working alongside twin brother Matt, writer, director and producer Ross Duffer cut his teeth on several short films before helming feature-length horror "Hidden" (2015) and TV mystery "Stranger Things" (Netflix, 2016-). Born in Durham, NC, both of the Duffer brothers studied Film Production at Orange County's Chapman University where they made their first film, "We All Fall Down" (2005), a short about a wealthy family fleeing the Great Plague of 1666. The siblings then followed it up with "Eater" (2007), the tale of a police station stalked by a cannibal, "Road to Moloch" (2009), a story based on a group of reconnaissance soldiers encountering an ancient evil, and "Vessel" (2012), a short about an otherworldly force terrorizing passengers on a domestic flight. In 2015, Ross and Matt moved onto the small screen to write three episodes of "Wayward Pines" (Fox, 2015-), the hit adaptation of Blake Crouch's post-apocalyptic mystery novel. Later that same year, they wrote and directed their first full-length feature with "Hidden" (2015), a horror thriller in which a family are forced to take refuge from a dangerous outbreak in a bomb shelter. In 2016, the pair landed their very own TV show, "Stranger Things" (Netflix, 2016-), an 1980s-set mystery about a missing boy starring Winona Ryder.
