Shirley Deane was an actress who had a successful Hollywood career. Deane's earliest roles were in film, including the musical "King of Burlesque" (1935) with Warner Baxter, "Back to Nature" (1936) and the Warner Oland mystery "Charlie Chan at the Circus" (1936). She also appeared in "Educating Father" (1936) and "Girls' Dormitory" (1936) with Herbert Marshall. She kept working in film throughout the thirties, starring in the musical comedy "One in a Million" (1936) with Sonja Henie, "Off to the Races" (1937) and "The Jones Family in Hot Water" (1937). She also appeared in "A Trip to Paris" (1938). In the latter part of her career, she continued to act in "Love on a Budget" (1938), the musical "Prairie Moon" (1938) with Gene Autry and "Safety in Numbers" (1938). She also appeared in "Everybody's Baby" (1939). Deane more recently acted in the sci-fi flick "Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe" (1940) with Buster Crabbe. Deane passed away in April 1983 at the age of 70.
