Learning about the entertainment business from every angle was Travis Nicholson's strategy as an actor-and it definitely worked. Born in Texas but raised in Nashville, Nicholson was inspired by his musician father to pursue his creative ideas. He completed a two-year program at Watkins Film School and secured an internship to work with the Coen Brothers on the film "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" (2000) in 2000, leading to a lasting creative relationship with the team. He would work as a production assistant on the set of their films "The Man Who Wasn't There" (2001) and "Intolerable Cruelty" (2003), and went on to work with director Shane Dax Taylor, working as both an assistant to the director and as an actor in the film "Bloodworth" (2010). During much of this time, Nicholson landed a few small appearances in films like "Blink" (2007) and "Country Strong" (2010) before writing, producing, and starring in the comedy "Super Zeroes" (2012) in 2012. He would also write and direct the short film "The Arm" (2012) that same year, winning the Sundance Film Festival's award for Best Comedic Short. After co-producing and co-starring in the sci-fi thriller "Listening" (2014), Nicholson made an appearance as a police officer in "Straight Outta Compton" (2015). Then in 2016, he joined the cast of the sitcom "Still the King" (CMT, 2016-). Nicholson was also a musician, and often played in the band The Swindlers alongside Steve Earle's son, Justin Townes Earle.
