Webbie

American rapper, actor and Baton Rouge, Louisiana native Webster "Webbie" Gradney Jr. was born on September 6, 1985. Known by his stage mononym, Webbie grew up listening to Southern hip hop and writing rhymes of his own. He was first recorded performing with Lil Boosie in the song "Gotta Get It" on Lil Boosie's second album "For My Thugz" (2002). After partnering with Lil Boosie for additional tracks, Webbie's successful solo song "Give Me That" (2005) earned him a record deal. His first studio album "Savage Life" (2005) was immediately successful on the Billboard charts. Over the next 15 years he would put out five additional studio albums in the Savage Life series. The single "Independent" from "Savage Life 2" (2008) was his most successful, reaching #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In addition to his music career, Webbie co-starred with Lil Boosie in the independent film "Ghetto Stories" (2010). The film told the loosely biographical story of two rival drug dealers in Baton Rouge.
