Anthony Arrigo Dread Central Low on budget but high on ambition "The Brain" offers up some thoughtful plot ideas, while also serving as a helluva fun creature feature... Rated: 3.3/5 Apr 11, 2020 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy The brain itself is the movie's best element -- against all logic, it's simultaneously terrifying and laughable. The rest of the movie is pretty dismal. Rated: 1.5/4 May 4, 2019 Full Review Adam Lippe Examiner.com In the history of fantastic bad ideas, none may seem as foolhardy as the fact that director Ed Hunt originally intended for the titular character, an alien from outer space encased in gelatinous goo who uses TV to brainwash humans, the ability to speak. Audience Member THIS FLICK WAS BORING INCREDIBLY BORING IF ITDIDNT HAD A BUDGET OF 750000 $ I WOULD ENJOY IT BUT IT HAD THAT SUM AND FOR THIS THIS MOVIE COULD BE MORE A BETTER BAD FLICK I DIDNT HAVE ANY ENJOYMENT BECAUSE EXCEPT ONE SCENE GUESS WHITCH BUT THE ACTING STLL WAS TO BE A REAL BAD FLICK TOO GOOD OK THE END WITH THE CHASE WAS ALSO GOOD BUT NOTHING ELSE Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/24/24 Full Review Brad P Low on budget but high on ambition "The Brain" offers up some thoughtful plot ideas, while also serving as a helluva fun creature feature filled with ‘50s throwback vibes and ‘80s-level gore. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review scott g I wish it was just like the back of the VHS. That spooked me when I first saw it and kept me from renting it. But it is deceiving because it isn't that violent and it really more of a comedy when I was expecting an experiment gone wrong story with a giant man-eating brain that consumes people in a bloody disgusting way. It was still entertaining, but I wish it wasn't the film it is. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member The villain henchman chops off a police officer's head with an axe infront of the hero & girlfriend only for other police officers to show up moments later while pointing at the hero running away empty handed and yelling "Get them, they just cut off a police officer's head" while holding an axe. The only redeeming thing about this movie is the base idea of a smart rebel fighting back against a brainwashing power structure. This movie also commits the sin of showing the monster early, showing it often, & showing it doing the same thing (shaking & staring at the camera). Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Hoo boy... not have enough critical words in vocabulary. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member I personally find practical horror effects creepy, but here it just gets ridiculously amusing.
