red t A Hidden Gem. The acting and Production value is all solid. The editing is well done along with good pacing. The only thing that is just ok is the music. Quite charming overall. I wouldn't say anything about it is phenomenal but it is a well put together film. I'd say anyone that likes the 94' remake should give this a watch on top of any Janet Leigh Fans. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Donna Corcoran, who plays the adorable eight year old orphan in the movie, was a natural. I've seen a LOT of movies, especially in the last 2 1/2 years with Covid, so I recognize true talent and this child has it. Watch this heartwarming story…you won't be sorry. Paul Douglas' Bronx-y portrayal of the Pittsburgh Pirates team manager made for a strong central role, and Janet Leigh as the sports reporter completed the central core. As an aside, Leigh's waistline must have been 18" …1946…when we were all a bit slimmer! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Donna Corcoran's performance as the little girl who sees angels, and Janet Leigh as a newspaper reporter are the best reasons to watch. The location photography, too. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Tom M Ornery foul mouthed, over-the-hill baseball manager meets young gorgeous newspaper columnist and adopts an orphan. Oh ... and then there's the angels. Corny but lovable. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/02/21 Full Review steve d Surprisingly dull family film. Variety Staff Variety Clarence Brown has carved a tremendously satisfying filmization from a script that, from every evidence, could have gone completely haywire if handled clumsily, dealing as it does with fantasy.
