After receiving a head injury on a case, private eye Maurice Pogue (Dana Carvey) suffers from a form of amnesia in which his short-term memory is wiped clean every time he falls asleep. Besides experiencing some obvious problems in his profession, Pogue is also the key witness in an important case against a mobster (Michael Gambon) accused of murder. Now, relying only on a cassette recorder to fill him in on a daily basis, Pogue has to not only testify at the trial, but also crack a big case.

Steve D 02/19/2023 Should be fun but the script is so lazy no laughs will be found. See more 05/09/2020 My 10 year old self loved this movie. It's a shame I can't find it anywhere to watch again. Retrospectively I can admit that it had flaws and wasn't great. But I was entertained and I'm sure I would be again. Quit hatin and kees me. See more 06/13/2017 Doesn't realize its potential despite a good premise and an always likable Carvey. Still good for a few good laughs. See more 06/28/2013 Another bad Dana Carvey movie, but not as bad as the last one I saw which was Master of Disguise. The movie has like 2 laughs and offers absolutely nothing memorable at all and I will probably forget what happened in the film by tomorrow. It is also like the comedy version of Memento without hardly any laughs. See more 01/11/2013 The jokes are predictable, but it's not entirely horrible. Just mostly forgettable. It's surprising to see a Carvey role where he does almost no impersonations. See more 11/16/2012 A unique story about a private detective named Maurice pogue who when he goes to sleep at night he loses his memory due to an exlosion while solving a case. With the woman who supposedly died in the explosion he must find a rare coin that is worth a lot money and try to escape the bad guys that caused the explosion that wants pogue wiped out before he can testify against them in court. Dana carvey is usually pretty funny and he is in some areas of this movie. I did not think it was that great of a movie but still somewhat enjoyed it. It kept me interested through most of it.
