After escaping from prison, murderous bank robber Spike Manning (Bob Steele) quietly frames a stagecoach robber known as Hashknife (Charles King), then begins working under an assumed name for local rancher and sheriff Baxter (Charles K. French). When the sheriff's son Kent (Frank Lyman Jr.) and daughter Judy (Beth Marion) get caught up in a plot to break Spike's partner, Muggs (Richard Cramer), out of jail, Spike attempts to save the innocents while getting revenge on the criminals.
