Dale R This is a remake of the 1965 film of the same name, this time starring Christina Ricci and Doug E. Doug. Dean Jones, the cop from the original film, has a small role. The plot is basically the same, but happens in a small Massachusetts town. They use a few of the same gags from the first movie, but the writing in this one is awful. All the one liners were cringe worthy. The only good laugh I had was from the antics of two rival gas station owners played by John Ratzenberger and Mark Christopher Lawrence. Christina Ricci’s character is an emo teenager, because that was cool and Doug E. Doug was miscast in the lead role instead of being a comedic side character. Hard pass this movie, the original is a better film. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/07/24 Full Review Montgomery M I love cats. This movie was really fun Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 09/12/23 Full Review Jack H I loved this film. The acting and editing was poor but that just somehow made it better. The comedy was amazing and I love everything that other critics don't like. I think that this movie is amazing if you're the target audience but horrible if you're not. If you like Home Alone you will probably like this film, However I cannot blame other critics for disliking it because they probably just aren't the target audience. It's just a shame that it's too old to have a sequel. Then again they rebooted it(I'm talking about the reboot) about 20 years after first release. If they did make a sequel it would really be a shame if it had the curse of the sequel being horrible. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/08/23 Full Review StephenPaul C LOL, the funniest 01 hour: and 29 minutes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Starring Christina Ricci!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/05/23 Full Review Kelley P I think some of these reviewers need to loosen up a bit! The movie was made to be silly and have some laugh out loud moments. I was prepared not to like it because I liked the original, but it surprised me. Recommend Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/14/23 Full Review red t Lazy Acting, Unfocused Cinematography, and Horrible Music. The Cat is the best actor in this which is really saying something. The first 20 minutes there is no plot and extremely unfocused. The Action at the end is over the top and stupid and the jokes miss 95% of the time. Doug E.. Doug feels like he is trying to act but has no guidance at all on how he should react. The only good things are after the first 20 minutes its decently paced, there is a somewhat focused plot, and the acting gets somewhat better. Complete insult to the original. Skip this.
