In a remake of the 1950s classic, bias and group-think influence the deliberations of a dozen jury members. A modernized and maybe a more realistic free remake of a good movie. While it feels more real, it feels more convoluted and maybe less dramatic. Still well worth viewing

Hello, out of my 16 almost 17 years of movie watching and critiquing, this was one of THE WORST movies of my time. Not only is the cinematography horrible, the characters are flat, bland, unfunny, and boring. I wish I could honestly give this movie ZERO STARS. ZERO, Do not watch this movie anywhere, it is absolute trash. Please stay away and watch a better movie (Jurassic Park franchise). Thank you

OK, it had a big name cast but it sucked donkey balls for the simple reason that you can't take the same set of facts and attempt to catapult them four decades into the future. Trials and of course their accompanying jury deliberation rooms simply weren't the same. Any murder trial taking place in the 1990's wouldn't be compressed into mere days, When watching a film, "suspension of disbelief" is required but this is just so far-fetched the viewer can't do that. Watching the 1957 version doesn't present that problem, which is why the earlier film holds up and the remake sucks. I gave up on this one as it was clear it couldn't possibly offer anything new to the story.

What makes this incarnation so riveting are the performances, as strangely out-of-sync with one another as they are. Friedkin shows no desire to make certain his actors are on the same page, or even in the same book, when it comes to tone and style
