Alec B 02/28/2024 The meaning of the title may be obvious but Sayles is more concerned with what people do to survive in impossible situations than trying to find a deeper meaning. The way the narrative unfolds, as a road movie with characters showing up to represent various perspectives and harsh realities, is quite brilliant. The single character going back to try and find the students he sent into the wild to doctor the locals is a perfect frame to drop in other elements along the journey.
