Candice Frederick Reel Talk Online It's well acted, nuanced, and surprisingly effective. A definite must-see thriller. Rated: B+ Mar 21, 2017 Full Review Nigel Andrews Financial Times It works best whenever Goodman swaggers into frame, a slack-jawed psycho with a cuddly side. Rated: 3/5 Dec 28, 2016 Full Review Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com 10 Cloverfield Lane might not be a true sequel to Cloverfield, but that doesn't make it any less magnificent, watching it a spellbinding treat I simply did not want to see come to an end. Rated: 4/4 Aug 15, 2016 Full Review David Day Horror Movie Talk The way this movie deals with relationships, the terror of the unknown, and the incredibly thin veneer of society in a way that is so real that you just feel it in your bones. Rated: 10/10 Sep 23, 2025 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com …10 Cloverfield lane might just be the most intense PG-13 movie ever…those who enjoy a good old Hitchcockian power-play should find plenty to enjoy here in an edge of the seat movie which understands that tension is more effective than any special effect… Rated: 4/5 Aug 12, 2025 Full Review Brian Bisesi Horror Movie Club Podcast 10 Cloverfield Lane takes the time to flesh out nuanced character dynamics without sacrificing its thrilling pace. Garett M The movie was amazing, the acting, the suspense, the cinematography... Until the end. John Goodman plays an amazing villain while also making you feel sympathy for him and want to know more about him. The dinner scene has to be one of the greatest suspense moments in film. The movie is really enjoyable and I couldn't stop watching. The only downside is the ending, they added an extra 10 minutes that didn't need to be there that seemed like it was just showing off CGI and trying to add more jump scares, if you've seen it you know what I'm talking about. Other than that it is a 10/10 experience. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/22/25 Full Review Robin O 10 Cloverfield Lane takes the time to flesh out nuanced character dynamics without sacrificing its thrilling pace. The script, direction, and acting all serve to keep this practically single setting film engaging and exciting Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/15/25 Full Review Christian K Solid staging and execution - definitely could of used more Cloverfield alien stuff but the last 20 here are dynamite. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/13/25 Full Review Troy R A very good balance of suspense and mystery. The story keeps you guessing on who is right, what is happening, and who this mysterious bunker man is. The acting is great and although it can be a little over the top at times it helps create the suspense. Ending is interesting, not a net positive or negative to the movie but somewhere in-between. I would prefer if the movie didn't have the Cloverfield name, or if it had been the first movie in the series as it would have avoided any foreshadowing to the story. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/05/25 Full Review Michael K. A bit far fetched, but suspenseful and decent fun Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/04/25 Full Review Paul B To me it doesn't capture the "horror" or scary movie genre well. Yes it is a sci-fi thriller, but not really a horror movie. I am not feeling like I need to check my doors are locked and watch around every corner before I go to bed.
