After surviving a car accident, Michelle (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) wakes up to find herself in an underground bunker with two men. Howard (John Goodman) tells her that a massive chemical attack has rendered the air unbreathable, and their only hope of survival is to remain inside. Worth watching once. Maybe. For some reason, it gets recommended a lot. It isn't a classic. The story is very, very predictable. Generic dialogue. The two leads deliver bad performances. John Goodman is the only thing great in the movie. Dan Trachtenberg is a hack.

Criticisms - Polarizing Ending: The abrupt shift into sci-fi action can be jarring, feeling like a different movie. - Tonal Shift: The finale's tonal shift and introduction of CGI aliens contrast with the practical tension. Verdict 10 Cloverfield Lane is a superior spiritual successor, a uniquely terrifying beast with 90 minutes of sheer tension. A must-see for thriller fans, despite the divisive ending.

The acting was excellent, and John Goodman does not disappoint. I fault the ending however; as I'm not a fan of the the supernatural or alien invasions. It seems like a reverse deus ex machina type of cop out.

The movie was amazing, the acting, the suspense, the cinematography... Until the end. John Goodman plays an amazing villain while also making you feel sympathy for him and want to know more about him. The dinner scene has to be one of the greatest suspense moments in film. The movie is really enjoyable and I couldn't stop watching. The only downside is the ending, they added an extra 10 minutes that didn't need to be there that seemed like it was just showing off CGI and trying to add more jump scares, if you've seen it you know what I'm talking about. Other than that it is a 10/10 experience.
