A collection of disparate but equally damaged characters is traveling to Omaha, Neb. to perform in a karaoke competition with a grand prize of $5,000. They include con artist Ricky Dean (Huey Lewis), who finds his long-lost daughter, Liv (Gwyneth Paltrow), and brings her along for the ride, as well as a beleaguered salesman, Todd (Paul Giamatti). Sure it’s flawed, but this movie always gets me! The karaoke is wonderful - Andre Braugher and Paul Giamatti !!! It’s a fairytale, an odyssey, kind of ridiculous but if you allow yourself to indulge in a healthy dose of suspension of disbelief, you will enjoy yourself thoroughly. Gwyneth Paltrow and Huey Lewis!!!
