Wesley Gibson (James McAvoy) is an office worker whose life is going nowhere. After his estranged father is murdered, he meets Fox (Angelina Jolie), who recruits him into the Fraternity, a secret society of assassins which takes its orders from Fate itself. Fox and Sloan (Morgan Freeman), the Fraternity's leader, teach Wesley to tap into dormant powers. Though he enjoys his newfound abilities, he begins to suspect that there is more to the Fraternity than meets the eye.

There’s no smarts behind it, merely style and spectacle, and Bekmambetov just runs with it. He’s not concerned with making it look real, just with making it look really cool and letting the audience decide if they’re in the mood to play his game.

Ágil, chocante, sanguinário. Um thriller de ação e suspense surpreendente. Aqui, o destino de um jovem (James Mcavoy) frustrado com suas escolhas de vida, muda drásticamente ao se ver envolvido numa irmandade misteriosa. Menção honrosa a presença de Angelina Jolie e Morgan Freeman que interpretam os vilões dando um show em cena.

Ridiculous to the core, I'd be ok scoring 2 stars for popcorn escapism if it wasn't for the final message appearing to be that if you want to take control of your life, the best way to do so is by killing someone. The message is so explicit that it staggers me more people haven't commented on it. Happily, I'm going to guess that 99.999% of audience members weren't seeking life council from the movie, but beware the 0.001% who did.

I mean, it’s alrightttt… not bad as a casual film to flick on, nothing complicated about it and constant fast paced cheap action throughout. Unfortunately the whole thing feels incredibly rushed especially towards the end, leaving practically all the scenes with very little feeling of depth if any. In my opinion the direction of the film struggled to make its mind up about what genre of film it wanted to be, sometimes it felt like you were watching a cheesy comedy and then moments later it felt like a more serious action film. Overall not really worth the watch in my opinion, but not terrible either.

Synopsis
