The acting is above average for most b-movies. The filmmakers took what they had and made a watchable movie. It is slow paced in the beginning, and not very gory, so, If you are looking for an action horror, this is not one. But it does have something, I did like it, but not in a kind of yes this is a cool b-movie classic kind of thing, just a well this was all-right. I don't know this is definitely not for everyone. Yes, the acting could be worked upon (not bad for amateurs) and there are some inconsistencies throughout the film. But the plot and characters are original and highly creative. It is interesting and never boring. The final scenes are my favorite. My gaydar went off during the entire movie, I swear that investors paid for a cameo appearance or two. I thought they had heart and hope they make another movie. If you ignore the inconsistent acting and the associated flaws that come with a low budget production (inconsistent sound / the odd editing flaw), this flick is absolute gem.
