Jane (Meryl Streep), a successful restaurateur, has been divorced from Jake (Alec Baldwin) for many years, although they remain friends. When an innocent meal together turns into an affair, Jane finds that she is the other woman in the now-remarried Jake's life. Meanwhile, Adam (Steve Martin), an architect hired to remodel her kitchen, is still stinging from his own divorce. He finds himself falling in love with Jane but soon realizes that he has become part of a triangle.

It's [writer/director Nancy Meyers'] typical, though smart, romantic comedy for a more mature audience. But, unlike Something's Gotta Give, there are no Oprah-like a-ha moments, which made it really quite unspecial and fall sorta flat.

This movie is not meant to be an academy award winner. It's a witty look at some post-divorce "complications" that are not so uncommon. Well of course the setting is rich California, so what. The acting comes across as authentic for the characters and the dialogue is quite witty. So if you are in the mood for light hearted rom-com, this is a good watch. I thoroughly enjoyed it. So grab a glass of wine and enjoy yourself a fun movie.

Nancy Myers has a few really fun movies and while this one wasn't as good as Something's Gotta Give, I still thought it had some funny moments. Krasinski was the best part for me, but overall I would say it was pretty good.

If uncomplicated, this would be a sweet and funny love story -- but it's complicated. After reading the reviews, I watched this movie with low expections. I was pleasantly surprised. The emotions are real and complex. The characters (main and supportive) are enjoyable and personable. There are no easy answers in relationships, family, and love. It left me feeling happy and sad. The cast is phenominal.
