Thanks to a suitably raunchy script and a pair of winning performances from Jonah Hill and Russell Brand, Get Him to the Greek is one of the year's funniest comedies.

Deborah Ross The Spectator I like to think I have a sense of humour, but this is horribly tiresome and probably only fit for teenage boys, who do seem to get a buzz from this sort of thing. Jay H One of the worst movies I have ever seen. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/24/24 Full Review Les N I can't remember why I wanted to watch it? But anyway. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/13/24 Full Review Test T I watched this on DVD recently, a decade or so after it's release. I'd been putting off watching it, thinking it was going to be Greek (i know, it sounds stupid now). Anyhow, I'd got it totally wrong. This film is amazingly funny on many different levels, and I had missed out on some excellent entertainment. Russle Brand and Jonah Hill compliment each other perfectly, making every scene a delight to watch. The supporting cast do a superb job alongside them presenting an array of interesting characters to enjoy. Although simple, the story benefits from a wild roadtrip like journey which is constantly moving through a wealth of interesting locations. The music sounds great, but at the same time the naughty lyrics can't fail to amuse. I love watching Russel's acting. He has a unique style where he can elequently lead you down the most absurd trail of thought, switching back to relative normality in an instant leaving the viewer feeling completely abandoned. It's bordering on comic genius in my opinion. The writing is excellent, and gives Russel plenty of opportunities to perform at his best. Thoroughly recommended. If you've not seen it you really should. Also, the DVD came with an extras disc which has the music videos and songs from the film performed in full. It looks like Russel and the band had a great time making these. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/18/24 Full Review Larry K One of the greatest comedy movies of all time Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/28/23 Full Review Adolfo Y Good movie for a British singer and an American comedian. Good movie :) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/22/23 Full Review Terry S Absolutely fantastic watch. Russell Brand has great comedic value to his game with Jonah Hill complimenting their double act with his hilarious gaffes. Great storyline that I feel only Russell could play the Rockstar. The only sad thing is no quick sequel to this great movie as the songs are so good, it makes you yearn for more. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews
