Did You Hear About the Morgans?

What to Know

Critics Consensus

It gets a certain amount of mileage out of the inherent likability of its stars, but with an unfunny script and a lack of onscreen chemistry, Did You Hear About the Morgans? falls flat.

This ultra-mild frolic follows the 'fish-out-of-water' comedy formula so closely its lack of surprise is almost, well, surprising. Go to Full Review

In a silly way, it is entertaining, the mismatch is actually weirdly plausible, and try as I might, I couldn't be grumpy about it. Go to Full Review

Parker is better, injecting a note of rawness and authenticity into an otherwise misconceived subplot about adoption. Even she can't fake any curiosity in, yet alone sexual chemistry with, Grant. Go to Full Review

Raj S. @RajSi Nov 15 Not sure, why this movie got such low critic ratings, just watched on Netflix it’s fantastic movie and great acting by Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker and the couple who hosted them in Wyoming in Witness Protection Program. Will recommend to anyone who doesn’t care about ratings and simply interested in watching a good movie. See more thiago s @Thiagostone Aug 29 Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom See more Blu B Aug 18 Probably the worst Hugh Grant movie and just another one of many bad Parker ones. The acting isn't good. Grant is the best thing in this and even he isn't good but sometimes has flashes of comedy every once in a while that almost get a smirk. There is this feeling of awkward uncomfortableness that runs throughout 70% of the runtime and the rest is just dumb stupidity. Parker and Grant are terrible together. No chemistry, laughs, and Parker brings down Grant's quality. The humor is terrible. Parker is just playing somewhere between a stereotype and Carrie Bradshaw and is so annoying. The fish ut of water humor is at best flat or worst eye rolling constantly. The music is forgettable also. The editing and pacing is terrible. This is trying to be a screwball comedy plot mixed with a romcom and it just never works at all. The killer hunting them down feels forgotten about literally until the end. Stuff just happens once they get to Wyoming. The affairs, wanting a baby, fitting into the community, and the killer after them never forms a cohesive narrative and add the terrible/flat humor and two leads who seem so uncomfortable together and you see why this is terrible. Cinematography isn't even good either. The direction is super basic, never makes the gorgous location memorable at all, and it's loaded with dumb scenes especially the screwball type of ending that comes out of nowhere at the bull riding. To it's credit it's never unwatchable though. It still has that easy going romcom feel to it the entire time so it does have that I guess but still. Skip This. See more Alyssa D Aug 7 It’s a perfect movie when you consider the era is was released. A feel good, corny, romantic comedy See more Rich X Jun 21 The script was weak and the characters lacked chemistry. Grant and Parker seemed desperate to compensate for the weak script and just seemed to over act. The plot had potential but just didn’t deliver. Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend this one. See more Robert S 02/05/2024 I think it was well written, might move slow for the newer generation, but it was a nice western and very enjoyable See more Read all reviews
