Critics Consensus

Sharp, twisted, and darkly funny, 12 Hour Shift is an uncommonly clever heist caper with a refreshing female-focused twist.

Cath Clarke Guardian It's a throwaway film that perhaps I shouldn't have enjoyed as much as I did, but Mandy is such a deliciously sour character. Rated: 3/5 Jan 19, 2021 Full Review Tim Grierson Screen International Awash in bloody organs and scheming characters, writer-director Brea Grant's grisly dark comedy 12 Hour Shift ends up being more frenetic than inspired. Oct 21, 2020 Full Review Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com It's a spiritedly entertaining bit of unrelenting nastiness, all of it centered on a strong performance from the versatile Bettis that's outstanding. Rated: 3/4 Oct 16, 2020 Full Review Leslie Hatton Vague Visages As the debate rages on about whether strong female characters in movies should evoke admiration through heroism or just be flawed, human and sometimes downright unlikeable, it's nice to see that Brea Grant created a film that's full of different women. Feb 7, 2024 Full Review Jessica Scott Film Cred Thrilling and hilarious, 12 Hour Shift is a marvel of gallows humor that takes the viewer on an exhilarating ride through half a day in the life of a group of captivating, desperate people who make increasingly terrible decisions. Dec 27, 2022 Full Review Dallas King Flick Feast The irony that for a film with a running time of just 88 minutes, watching it feels like you are experiencing every minute of the full twelve hours. Emilliano Jr S Dull, boring, waste of time. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/24 Full Review Max S I transitioned from "what the hell am I watching" to "this s*** is hilarious" . Each scene being more over the top than the last and everything perfectly cascading into this insane night with insane people working at some god forsaken hospital definitely got some laughs out of me. The movie is really funny (in a dark way) which works if you're into that kind of humor. Wayyy better than I thought it would be... Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/19/24 Full Review Jeffrey P Complete and solid in what it did, more dynamics were needed to take it higher. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/25/23 Full Review Hugo S An illegal organ harvesting goes terribly wrong after a failed delivery. Subsequently, a bloody hunt begins for a replacement kidney during the "12 Hour Shift" at this chaotic hospital. A dark and twisted horror-comedy that will make you feel uncomfortable until the last minute. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/05/23 Full Review Elle W Cheerfully disgusting. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member It was OK, not something i'd recommend. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews
