Christopher Llewellyn Reed Hammer to Nail "The Man Who Could Not Remain Silent" offers a master class in how to tackle a terrible tragedy with restraint, making the eventual climax all the more devastating. Feb 21, 2025 Full Review Al Alexander Movies Thru the Spectrum With one exception. 2025’s yield of Oscar-nominated live-action shorts is a bumper crop. They include subjects as wide-ranging as child labor in Asia, the proliferation of A.I. and the harsh and unethical tactics exercised by U.S. immigration officials. Rated: B+ Feb 13, 2025 Full Review Tom Santilli Movie Show Plus "The Man Who Could Not Remain Silent" has been heavily lauded thus far, and for good reason. Rated: B+ Feb 13, 2025 Full Review Jared Mobarak The Film Stage Reviews of all five nominees. Feb 13, 2025 Full Review Laura Clifford Reeling Reviews 2025's Oscar nominated live action shorts could easily be confused with the documentary shorts, at least three based on true stories, all of them exhibiting social justice themes and little in the way of humor. stefiam Five excellent films. High production quality, well-written, excellent performances. All worth seeing. My choice for the Oscar is the South African film Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/21/25 Full Review Grant W Sooo good! The Rhino movie short is a must see! The Robot was hilarious & thought provoking. Was not disappointed. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/20/25 Full Review Vern C Most of the movies were very interesting. But, they were depressing! I did not expect this from all of them. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/17/25 Full Review Thomas Liked no previews of coming attractions of no interest to me. Films themselves were quite good this year, especially the last two. With current political landscape in America, I predict that the Lien will win. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/25 Full Review Anne 4 of the 5 Shorts were great. Unfortunately, the one from the USA was dishonest and untrue. Having gone through the US immigration process ourselves, this story is not reflective of reality. My guess is that the producers and founders of the film had a political narrative they want to portray, and its very disappointing that they can get away with it, more so that this movie gets nominated for an award. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/16/25 Full Review Anne Pure Joy! Every short film was superb! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/23/25 Full Review Read all reviews
