A nice Japanese thriller, obviously made for a Japanese audience, but nevertheless a great family picture that shows moral values like courage, self-sacrifice, and the humanity in the face of total disaster.

It does well on the emotional front, as most disaster movies tend to do. The CG was believable, which for a Japanese production is a HUGE step. But nothing about it will catch your eye. It's the same old story with the slight cultural differences. The grand finale seems over done. But a watchable movie overall.

This got to be one of my favorite movies to date. Wonderfully done. The story captivates you for start to end, every character has given much attention. A drama that makes you appreciate life more.

Passable Japanese disaster movie of a huge tsunami devastating the Shinagawa area of Tokyo with one man and his little daughter plus a couple of other survivors trapped underground in an old subway station and waiting for rescue by banging the code 252 on a pillar to alert the rescuers. If that's not enough a large typhoon is on it's way to disrupt their rescue even more. This movie is a tad over dramatic for me. The disaster scenes are great but I expected them to be a bit better. Saying that the sets are magnificent showing great devastation to the area affected by the giant wave. As for the cast they were fine but the little girl that plays Shiori was just so adorable.
