Martin Tsai Los Angeles Times Brown spent nearly four years so that we would witness Brawner's transformation firsthand. Rather than the after-school special that this film easily could have been, we get so much more out of it. Audience Member This documentary does one thing very well: It shows us that we DO need to protect ourselves -- from narcissistic sociopaths like William Brawner, who shows not one ounce of redemption or progress regarding the mentality that he is the most important person in the world and that everyone else was put here to do his bidding.
