Rob K 80 minutes of my life I'll never get back. Confusing and disjointed from the start, with horrible stilted dialogue, these people hardly know each other and have nothing to talk about. Only a film critic could look at this hot mess and give it five stars. The dark ending is a ridiculous twist, likely the result of some desperate film student trying to inject some scandal for lack of compelling plot / characters. The best part of this movie is that it's short and based in LA, where soulless ghouls like these haunt the streets and film schools regularly. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/26/24 Full Review Sarah S One of those movies that just ends Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/20/23 Full Review Gus D I have no idea how this got 100%... Have we watched the same movie? In 32 Weeks, we follow Cole's journey after a car accident in which she has lost short-term (of course, 32 weeks) memory. As she tries to remember what happened with the help of her ex-flatmate and boyfriend, things are not all clicking together... While the first half of the movie is quite charming, with tension rising along, the last 20/30 minutes were completely botched in my opinion. Too many "hints" were dropped and not resolved, too many things made absolutely no sense in the characters' behavior, too many highly toxic behaviors were just vaguely evoked... While I appreciated the esthetics of this indie thriller/rom-com, the half-written scenario was just really disappointing. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/03/23 Full Review Robert R 100% Tomatometer?! Are you all high? Uninspired, vapid characters (including amnesia girl), mediocre acting, and an unimaginative storyline with an abrupt, lazy ending. A 12-year-old could have written a more imaginative screenplay. A total waste of 1 hour and 22 minutes. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/11/23 Full Review Audience Member I went into 32 weeks unsure of what to expect, but boy was I rewarded for taking the chance on it! This film has some really excellent performances, interesting characters, a legitimately thrilling story, and not for nothing some very well crafted and tasteful motion graphics - which I always love to see. My favorite part of the film was Nicole Rainteau's performance of the well meaning, but a bit off kilter, best friend. If indie films are your interest don't miss this one. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member 32 Weeks is a quality indie drama that I stumbled upon in the new releases on Amazon. I knew I was in for a romance/drama but I thought it might lean a bit more toward being a rom-com, but what the story turned out to be was a rather intriguing romance/mystery film that kept me very invested throughout. The film is also very well shot, particularly for an indie, and highlighted several beautiful Los Angeles locations and landmarks. If you're looking for an original indie that you'll want to watch to the end, then check out 32 Weeks. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Read all reviews
