Kevin B Low budget, predictable "thriller" that fails in every attempt to engage the viewer. Misguided, disconnected plot. Alec Baldwin typecast as the government leadership buffoon. The movie actually starts off pretty decently as I am engaged in the action but the whole time the movie is just missing that thrill factor to keep me invested. The movie totally lacks that feeling of fear that you get for the characters and imagining how you'd feel being on the plane. The performances in this movie I thought were good but mediocre with the standout being Jonathan Rhys Meyers as his character has this turning point in the movie which I'm conflicted by which brings me into the next big thing about this movie is that the movie feels completely misguided in the direction it is going, almost like the movie was continually being written as the movie was shooting without any sense of how the movie was going to play out. They introduce certain elements or key plot points only to back track and disregard what was put in place 10 minutes ago within the movie and just that alone made the movie plummet for me. The movie is also only 93 minutes long and with a plot like this, you would think the movie would feel like a rollercoaster ride, but it felt like a rollercoaster that kept breaking down during the ride. Overall, 97 minutes delivers a decent acting performance and mediocre action with a directionless story. 97 Minutes gets a C-. Anderson Common Sense Media This misguided thriller moves in unwieldy starts and stops, with elements that seemed important 10 minutes earlier being forgotten and no cohesive sense of character or suspense. Rated: 2/5 Jun 17, 2023 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue Mercifully, this low-budget thriller is a bit shorter than its title suggests, as it fails to yield any meaningful suspense either in the air or on the ground.
