Liam D Easily the worst movie that Don Bluth has ever made. It’s an overly colourful, terribly written, horribly acted and insulting animated film even for kids Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/19/24 Full Review Cassandra C This remains one of my favorite movies from my childhood. It's sweet, silly and a little creepy. Being a big kid myself, I look forward to watching this with my granddaughter for years to come. So grateful for all of Don Bluth's films! 🥹 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/11/24 Full Review Carlos Hugo C Jamás la vi, pero si mi socio la lleva tatuada en la espinilla, debe ser una obra maestra. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/08/24 Full Review Audience Member 30 years later This is regarded by many critics and fans to be one of legendary animator Don Bluth’s biggest misfires Entering the 1990s things drastically changed in animation even when Bluth stepped away from Walt Disney studios He wanted his own company to handle his own projects in Ireland and this was one of them following ‘Thumbelina’ released the same year Bluth and co-director Gary Goldman make one of their shortest features starring a kind troll named Stanley voiced by the late Dom Deluise His home is ruled by evil, disgusting trolls but Stanley is the only kind hearted citizen who just wants to grow flowers with the magic of his green thumb The late Cloris Leachman as the evil Queen Gnorga gets wind of his flower activity and as punishment banishes him to Earth where nothing grows Thankfully it turns out to be a lucky mistake, Stanley winds up in NYC right under Central Park He has to live under a bridge though underground since everything else is too dangerous Things change when he runs into two small children named Rosie and Gus Rosie is curious and explorative while Gus is bossy and just wants to spend time with his parents They both wander into the park alone and come across Stanley seeing his incredible powers But Gnorga finds out Stanley wasn’t punished the right way and she makes her way to NYC to finish him off A very good movie in my opinion even though most don't think so Sure there are some problematic parts but it's rather cute and cuddly You gotta love Don Bluth for some of his creativity; his animation soars and Dom Deluise has to be treasured as a voice actor for many of his films Leachman is having a wickedly good time voicing this troll queen chewing the scenery Yes this did poorly with critics and the box office given there was no promotion and no confidence from Warner Bros. The creator himself even distanced himself from the project altogether I found this to be the best Don Bluth entry ever even if it’s too kidsy Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/07/24 Full Review Noah G This is a great movie why is everyone such a movie hater I love this movie judge me for it SML Is worse than everything else Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/20/24 Full Review Kaito K Boring As Fuck The flowers Are Literally all that HappendsThe Story Is Absolutely Garbage There Is Absolutely Nothing At Stakes Till the last 20 minutes of the film This movie should have Gone Straight to viedo Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/12/24 Full Review Read all reviews
