12/15/2020 This movie really missed the mark. The plot is completely unoriginal, the characters are poorly written stereotypes, conflict resolutions are predictably (and badly) executed, and the pace is slow. The acting was decent, but casting Swanson as a 34 year old is an odd choice. The 2 child actors and the wholesome message are the only redeeming qualities of this movie. But it's Kirstin Dorn's performance as Mel pulls the entire movie together - sealing them as a family: "Don't go Miles! But we're a family."
