By FAR the least intelligent Hallmark movie I've ever watched . I think my IQ dropped 15 points by around halfway through . The most fascinating part of the film is that the lead male (Rich guy Nicholas) shows BLATANT signs of Narcissistic Personality Disorder which is never addressed but rather treated as normal … astonishing, even for a Hallmark Christmas movie LOL!

This is an absolutely go-to for me during Christmas, or if I'm needing a shot of silly Christmas style romance in it's off season.
The acting is B- daytime drama, but it definitely works!
If you're okay with a whimsical light hearted Christmas romance (that makes a man look like a complete moron) then this is it; & i Say that with 100% love!
See the film. It's fun & its Wonderful.

It is literally the best movie ever please I beg watch it. It may seem a little cringe per say in the beginning but I promise if you you stick around you won't be disappointed in any way shape or form. I watch these types of Christmas movies religiously, but this is one I will never forget and come back to forever.

This movie's story is a modern version of the values in Cinderella that guys are going to love: how does a man stack up without wealth and social status? Can a woman who is meant to be a man's soulmate really fall in love without knowing the man's true identity? Enter the Christmas Masquerade Ball, where names are forbidden and the requirement to wear masquerades give participants anonymity, allowing everyone who meet in there to be themselves and live in the moment, or fall in love, not for money, or for who they are, but for how they make us feel, just knowing that when they know, you know, or in Nikolaus' case, only having the clues in the 5 items in Angie's Christmas stocking of how to find her and her true identity, after he finally met his true match at the ball, a woman who does not want him for his fortune or social status, but for his true self, but only if he can truly recognize what he really wants and what's important in life and if he can remember Angie for who she really is.
So many great facial expressions of the lovely character Angie by rising star Emma Rigby are noteworthy. Guys are going to love that smitten look she gave Nikolaus in the shirtless scene when she accidentally bumped into Nikolaus after his workout. That look on her face is priceless and stunning acting that looks natural and connects with audiences that some ladies are going to want to learn how to give to their hubbies or boyfriends to give them that immense feeling of admiration and appreciation for all that hard workout at the gym. The scene when she looks in the mirror after trying on the dress for fitting is the look that dress givers would love to see in the eyes of their recipient when giving a dress to their loved ones, like a little girl who suddenly realizes she can fly, it's empowering. Another scene is when she gave that jealous look after Nikolaus gave Candace an invitation without giving her one, not realizing that it came with a plus one invitation. The next great facial expression is at the scene when Angie tells her cousin Candace what to say to Nikolaus at their dates through a hidden earphone Candace wore until Nikolaus proposes to her for real and realizes that his proposal was meant for Angie, not Candace, the scene where Angie tells Candace that she wants to tell Nikolaus the truth, you can see her eyes express the feeling of hope then gently going into tears for fear of losing her only family left and the chance of owning the successful events planning business she worked so hard to build. The next facial expression is when Angie's eyes brightened up after Nikolaus told her on the evening before the scheduled wedding that he would be different with her because she is different. You'll also notice that when Angie told Nikolaus near the end that she loves him, it took Nikolaus' breath away for a second before he could tell her to take a look inside her Christmas stocking for the wedding ring he is about to present to her on one knee. All those subtleties of body language and profound facial expressions make the acting solid and realistic.
Poor Angie lost her parents but her uncle Otto and her cousin Candace were kind enough to treat her like their own family, working together, but Angie doing most of the work to build a fledgling catering business into a successful events planning business, which is now within reach of Angie to wholly own and run on her own for her financial independence, until Candace uses that motivation to tell Angie to convince Nikolaus that it was Candace he met at the Christmas Masquerade Ball, coercing her to do everything for her again, but this time, to marry the most wonderful man Angie met at the ball, and to humbly serve as event planner for the wedding and breath-taking proposal that was meant to be hers, Angie gets a real-time glimpse of what could have been hers if she had to choose between marrying for love or for money and family, the Cinderella values guys will love and ladies would want their hubbies or boyfriends to have in their repertoire for all mankind.
The Christmas songs in this movie are a great find worth adding to your favorite Christmas playlist, like the songs: This Christmas Night and Bah Humbug by Niki Hexum, and watching this movie is the best way to listen to those great songs in action. It's like the tingling sensation you get when you find a perfectly done music video, and fans are getting an amazing value since this movie is available to watch for free on Vudu by Walmart or Amazon video streaming service for free with just an e-mail signup confirmation, so there really is no excuse not to watch it since it's totally free to watch with commercials sponsoring it.

One of the best Christmas-themed romance movies ever made. Very polished, modern, and clean with outstanding Christmas soundtrack songs worth downloading and adding to your playlist. Guys are gonna love rising star, Emma Rigby as Angie, humble, hardworking, professional party planner, and close friend to many, who unknowingly also fills in the role of a dream date for her client, the Christmas masquerade ball's wealthy, distinguished host and the town's most eligible bachelor, Nikolaus Karmichael, frustrated by gold-diggers, under the anonymity of party masquerades, both having the best night of their lives until she had to go back to work in the kitchen, leaving him in love but with no way to get in touch with her except the clues in her Christmas stocking for the matchmaking exchange. He announces a grand proposal to find and marry the mystery woman but her boss and cousin, Candace, wants him too and discovers her secret, prompting her to make a deal with her to make him think Candace is the one in return for owning the successful events planning business or lose everything she worked hard for. In the end, she gets both the business and the love of her life as the groom-to-be eventually discovers the truth of who the mystery woman of the masquerade ball really is, just in time for a heart-throbbing grand Christmas engagement proposal that melts her heart after she got a glimpse of the love that could have been hers since they first met anonymously at the ball, if she had the courage to stand up to her boss and cousin to take a chance on love by telling him the truth and risk losing ownership of the successful events planning business she worked hard for. Highly recommended Christmas movie for PG-13 audiences with exciting demonstration of family values in humility, dedication, hard work, trust, and honesty, and it's free to watch on Vudu by simply signing up with a valid e-mail.
