John Monaghan Detroit Free Press Has all the hallmarks of a high-quality independent production, where real-life texture and genuine emotion more than compensate for lack of polish. Audience Member This is one of my favorite movies ever. Entertaining? Should addict life be entertaining? The repetition of the addict's life is real, same grind, over and over. Despite the lack of high budget Hollywood feature film polish, it is well written, well executed, well acted. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member It was one of many recovery theme movies that I added to my library. While shows like "28 Days" portray a more pop culture interpretation of addiction, this movie was the first I saw that got itself raw & dirty; real. Since then I have been exposed to some others, "Trainspotting," "Requiem for a Dream," which were truly incredible cinematic experiences. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Heart wrenching, honest look at addiction and the struggles that continue regardless on one's stage of recovery. Beautifully filmed, wonderfully acted for low budget. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Reeder's performance is amazing-but drugs drugs drugs drugs drugs. Plot became pretty predictable. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Amazing job, especially for a first film! Captures a very realistic vision of homelessness and addiction in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review Audience Member my favorite movie of all time, an honest look at addiction without all the holleywood hype.
