      Critics Consensus

This Disney two-fer may not be the most reverent literary adaptation, but it's remarkably crafted and emotionally resonant.

TIME Magazine An uneven doubleheader by Walt Disney, who has combined into one film two dissimilar literary classics. Nov 16, 2009 Full Review Jonathan Rosenbaum Chicago Reader Engaging and lively. Nov 3, 2009 Full Review A.H. Weiler New York Times Mr. Disney, abetted by his staff, such perfect narrators as Bing Crosby and Basil Rathbone, and a pair of durable literary works, has fashioned a conclave of cartoon creatures, which... have the winsome qualities and charm of Mickey Mouse, Dumbo, et al. Rated: 4/5 Oct 31, 2006 Full Review Carson Timar ButteredPopcorn It is quite possible that The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad is the worst Disney film to date. Absolutely worthless, the film is not even an empty experience but rather an actively harmful one. Sep 6, 2023 Full Review Mike Massie Gone With The Twins Just might be the definitive screen version of the classic literature, even though it's short, simple, and animated. Rated: 7/10 Aug 3, 2020 Full Review Rachel Wagner rachelsreviews.net The music is a lot of fun especially the Bing Crosby numbers. Rated: A May 9, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Ash W For a movie dating back to the 1940's, this one has aged surprisingly well. Both shorts silly and charming. I would recommend this one. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/06/23 Full Review Maria O I loved watching Ichabod Crane during halloween... still do. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/22/23 Full Review Tabitha B The best of the Disney package films from the 1940s. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 11/11/23 Full Review Daniel F Nothing memorable about this film. just as bland and forgettable as the other films in this era before this. 4.0/10 Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/08/23 Full Review Dale R By far the best movie to come out of this era of anthology films, this move combines the stories of Wind in the Willows and Sleepy Hollow. I did get a few laughs out of the tale of Mr. Toad, but the clear winner is Sleepy Hollow. That short is narrated and songs sung by Bing Crosby and I feel it is a must watch every Halloween. It also features the only villain in Disney canon to win, which gives it a uniqueness that gives it extra points for me. Two shorts I think everyone should see once. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/28/23 Full Review Jack O The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. I never heard of that title when I was a kid cause I was watching the other Disney films years ago and years ago I watched The Wind and the Willows and I loved it and ask for The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, the story of Ichabod which I've never watched when I was kid and teenager. But when I was on YouTube I find the title The adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad and all I've ever watched is The Wind in the Willows and what I found surprising is that I hear the narrator telling a story of The Wind in the Willows is the person who stars in Sherlock Holmes. He's name is Basil Rathbone and he a really good job narrating and there is another narrator who is telling a story of Sleepy Hollow I never heard of his voice but I heard Ichabod Crane's voice sounded really like Bing Crosby. And yes I watched the Sleepy Hollow story recently but by god it is scary and I love the song which the boyfriend sings is beautiful and really creepy and I love the song which that Mr. Toad and Cyril sings is We're merrily on our way. These two stories conbind really well just like people says. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
