Jack Kinney
One of the few animation directors whose careers spanned the history of the field. Jack Kinney began in 1931 with Walt Disney, where he was directing cartoon shorts a decade later. When Disney began regular production of feature-length cartoons in the late 1930s and early 1940s, Kinney contributed to "Pinocchio"(1940), "Dumbo"(1941), "The Reluctant Dragon"(1941), "Saludos Amigos"(1943), "The Three Caballeros"(1945), and "Melody Time"(1948), while continuing to direct shorts. When Disney diversified into TV in the mid 1950s, Kinney co-supervised the production of the new animation that linked together the old cartoons. He later produced cartoons for Saturday morning TV.
