Audience Member An interesting plot device to tell the tale of this couple mostly through the recollections of those who only know them in passing. Good editing with decent supporting cast. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review ashley h Affair with a Stranger is a decent film. It is about a TV gossip columnist who wrongly announces that the marriage between now successful playwright William Blakeley and his wife Carolyn is breaking up. Jean Simmons and Victor Mature give a good performances. The screenplay is a little slow in places. Roy Rowland did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the humor and drama. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member good rom-dram told mostly in flashbacks Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Although this is romantic fluff, I enjoyed it. Jean Simmons was lovely, Victor Mature was - well - Victor Mature, and watch out for Jane Darwell (aka Ma Joad) as their kindly landlady. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member A mis-firing romantic film. It has all the elements of a Hollywood romance but the story is weak and the series of various flashbacks are not enough to make it a full-bodied plot.
