Rachel Sklar Bitch Media I want to see more movies like this, by more women, with more women. That would be delightful. Jan 14, 2021 Full Review Claudia Puig The Asahi Shimbun GLOBE (Japan) As a first film, Afternoon Delight is worth exploring -- perhaps mostly to see what film Soloway does next. Rated: 2.5/4 Feb 2, 2017 Full Review Mark Kermode Observer (UK) Relaxed, intuitive performances from the top-notch ensemble cast pay dividends, with Hahn commandingly stressy in the central role, and Michaela Watkins impressively abrasive as neighbourhood organiser-in-chief. Rated: 3/5 Mar 30, 2014 Full Review Richard Propes TheIndependentCritic.com It is worth seeing almost solely for Kathryn Hahn's conflicted yet luminous performance. Rated: 2.5/4.0 Sep 1, 2020 Full Review Nicholas Bell IONCINEMA.com A sometimes successfully coordinated comedic vehicle that finally gives Kathryn Hahn a worthy leading role. Aug 22, 2019 Full Review Stephen O'Nion One Room With A View A little film with little to say - but what it does, it does with a refreshing conviction and winning performances. Pam L Loved it from start to finish! All actors are great. More of a chick-flick Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/20/24 Full Review Salty S All star cast (temple, Hahn, curtain, Watkins) in a painfully slow and boring movie. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/24 Full Review Joe S The Female Gaze as seen by the film school 's star. Some bright lines, and a stunning set-piece where the women get drunk together and let 'rip. Otherwise, a smug evocation of sex issues for affluent women who lunch and their cypher husbands who are the sort of guys who call each other "Bro." Juno Temple, who plays McKenna, the heart-of-gold stripper/prostitute whom Kathryn Hahn's Rachael brings home as a do-good reform project, owns the movie with a heartbreaking performance that only underlines the through-line laid down by writer-director Joey Soloway that this is a movie about yuppies, conceived by people whose sentiments are always on the side of the house where the money is counted -- so working girls like McKenna being back on the streets is part of what's supposed to be a happy ending. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/17/23 Full Review kevin c Kathryn Hahn plays a dissatisfied woman in her marriage and decides to inject some spice into it by planning a night at a strip club with her husband and a few couples. Circumstances ensue where she invites a stripper played by Juno Temple to stay at their house leading to some unexpected situations. Really interesting and well performed film. Josh Radnor plays her husband. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Apparently the message is you can't save everyone and have to consider the consequences of your actions regardless of simple emotion. I found the story OK, but the interactions between the characters were not that authentic, seemed forced and stilted. Not my kind of movie. Decent but nothing tonwrite home about. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review scott m Extremely wealthy but bored mother has mid-life crisis, so to spice things up, she let's a prostitute stay in her home. Very well acted movie by Katheryn Hahn. I enjoyed the movie because of her. Even if it is a cliched story. Juno Temple's character is a bit of a stretch though. No prostitute is that normal.
