Ernesto Zelaya Miñano ScreenAnarchy If they're planning a third sequel, Art needs to come back and show the pretenders how scaring others is really done. Feb 3, 2023 Full Review Matt Donato We Got This Covered All Hallows Eve 2 is a horror anthology with the right spirit, but well-wishing only gets you so far. Rated: 5/10 Feb 1, 2016 Full Review Felix Vasquez Jr. Cinema Crazed In an age where the horror anthology is back in full force, I'd say "All Hallows' Eve 2" is worth checking out. Lincoln D The pointless and dumb plot film returns with a sequel that is also stupid and generic but suprisingly mildly entertaining. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 12/07/24 Full Review Josh A This just feels pointless. It's literally just a rehash of All Hallows' Eve but without Art the Clown, the actual interconnecting plot or any connectivity between the shorts. It's just a collection of mostly mediocre short films about Halloween - actually, most of them aren't even about Halloween. Some had cool concepts e.g. The Last Halloween and A Boy's Life. But they just fell flat. At least with All Hallows' Eve, the video tape had a purpose: to bring Art the Clown into the real world. If Art dies in Terrifier 4, it's basically an excuse for Art to come back for a fifth movie: the tape was found with footage of some of his murders that brought back an alternate version of him. But it feels creepy and connected. I never thought I'd be defending All Hallows' Eve, as that wasn't even that good of a movie, but here we are. Basically a case of "It's trash, but it's OUR TRASH DAMN IT!". The only reason I watched this was because it's technically part of the Terrifier franchise, but I'll just ignore it and treat it like that one uncle at the family function that everyone ignores. Overall, I like the idea of giving short films a second chance, but it's just not a good film. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/20/24 Full Review Audience Member Cringe acting, low budget, very very bad. Even I have more acting experience than these actors. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 10/26/24 Full Review James B Although Art the clown doesn't appear in this which might make it disappointing to fans it's an amazing film with top notch gore and some scary stories especially the last, it truly sets the standards for anthology films. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/26/24 Full Review SkyRo P "All Hallows' Eve" and its sequel are essentially the precursors to the Terrifier series. After watching the first three installments of Terrifier, which I initially thought were the main films, I decided to dive into these two movies to understand their connection. The clown character, who becomes prominent in the Terrifier franchise, actually originates from the first "All Hallows' Eve" film. The second installment was created to expand on the events of the first. The plot revolves around a VHS tape that either gets discovered by someone or is found in a child's trick-or-treat bag. When a viewer plays the tape, they are exposed to violent acts that are presented as movies, but in reality, they are real-life horrors caught on film. The film's conclusion sees the viewers, or characters in their homes, facing gruesome fates. While this concept is quite unique and intriguing, the films lean more towards horror than the excessive gore typical of the Terrifier series. Although violence is still present, it pales in comparison to what the Terrifier franchise has unleashed on audiences. One aspect I found refreshing was that the clown's backstory remains a mystery. In the Terrifier films, the character's origins can be confusing, but "All Hallows' Eve" maintains that ambiguity. It leaves viewers wondering about the clown's transformation into the psychopath he is known as, which is a captivating aspect of his character. In terms of quality, I think both films are decent, with the first being superior to the second. The sequel felt drawn out and uninteresting, while the first film managed to hold my attention throughout. I’ve heard there may be a third film, but I’ll have to look into that later. It’s worth noting that these movies don’t really connect with the Terrifier series in terms of continuity, so you don’t need to watch them to grasp the overall story. That said, if you’re a fan of Halloween or horror movies, I’d recommend giving them a shot. They’re not terrible, although the second film is noticeably weaker than the first. Just a heads-up!
