Terry Lawson Detroit Free Press It is not a surprise to learn that Bucatinsky is developing a sitcom based on this film, because it plays like an overly long pilot. Sep 21, 2001 Full Review Jane Sumner Dallas Morning News It may not be totally fresh and original, but All Over the Guy is nearly void of gay stereotypes. Sep 13, 2001 Full Review Steve Davis Austin Chronicle Rated: 2.5/5 Sep 10, 2001 Full Review Blake French Filmcritic.com This isn't another one of those annoying gay rights movies -- it just wants to have fun. Steve D its heart is in the right place but it needs a better script. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/24 Full Review Audience Member This movie was so we'll acted and hysterical. I'm a gay man and they got so many characteristics of my friends. The comedic talent was extraordinary. Don't miss this one. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Thank g-d for cute and committed actors, otherwise this would have been unbearable. Earns it's second star because at least the reason for "assholeness" of the hunky lead is explained - even if a tad over dramatized. And the message isn't lost: You can't always get what you want; but sometimes you get what you need. I wish the writers could have figured out how to say this without the clumsy baggage. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member I felt maudlin morose for much of this. I just couln't feel compelled to care about whether they got a relationship going or not. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie was all wrong! Not a fan; the villain shouldn't get a happy ending. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the better "gay" films, though it was still a bit of a cliche-fest. Bucatinsky (who also produced and went on to win an Emmy for "Scandal" in 2013) is very good as Eli. Ruccolo plays Tom, a raging cliche, but he's good in the part. Adam Goldberg is, well, Adam Goldberg - he's the same in every movie. Sasha Alexander is very funny. Cameos from Doris Roberts and Lisa Kudrow are fun. Great soundtrack. Cute, but not much more than that. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
