Alain E An excellent movie that addresses the sexual awakening of the young male protagonist and the inappropriate relationship he develops with his older female teacher. All this is happening during World War II that claims our hero’s brother’s life. The acting is throughout excellent and without exaggeration. The characters interact in a very realistic manner. There is a nice sideline on classical music that is the passion of the teacher’s husband who develops a friendship with our hero, despite being aware of his relationship with his wife. This is not a hypocritical US movie. There is an appropriate depiction of nudity without prurient intentions. In our day and age no one watches a two hour film for the 3 minutes of sexual scenes. Strongly recommended. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 10/16/24 Full Review Cyril Joyce A delicious to watch, every youngman desire Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/15/23 Full Review Audience Member The movie puts strong characters and thematic setting behind and focuses on the story and emotions. Not particularly as unique issue, but how relationships develops and protagonist get mature is beautiful. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Different from Ingmar Bergman's alienation and grimness, this film by Bo Widerberg is more colourful, passionate and lustful. However, the controversial subject is only a focal point of studying the dimensions of love. All Things Fair is more about coming of age and maturity as it will drag your mind back to the high school days of innocence and tenderness. Featuring Handel's sorrowful Lascia ch'io pianga and brave performances from Widerberg's son and second wife, All Things Fair is an absorbing bittersweet melodrama about adolescents on the verge of adulthood. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member A coming-of-age story from Sweden. I guess I would like it more if I had watched it decades back. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member great character and feel. bit long but heh Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
