Will G. F I liked it and Katie's a queen. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/12/24 Full Review Sally T Katie Holmes and the whole cast were superb. I loved all the stories in-between and the power of people. Her debut as a director was phenomenal cannot wait to see more of her work. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/18/22 Full Review Daniel G Touching, well-intentioned, fairly realistic movie that deals with how to survive when one is down to a car and some belongings and has nowhere to go and ends up meeting solidary people on the road. It doesn't totally stand up from the crowd, but is a work of quality by actress-director-producer Katie Holmes, trying to tie her name to more serious work. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/07/22 Full Review Audience Member All we had starts off decently but unfortunately as the movie goes on the clichés pile up. The performances are well done but the bond between mother and daughter could’ve been better. Some of the characters could have been flushed out better. As a drama it’s an OK watch nothing horrible but nothing very memorable either. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/21/20 Full Review Audience Member This movie is beautiful in it's simplicity. It's honest and real and I don't get the sense that it was meant to serve anything beyond this, which refreshing. The actors are well-casted in their roles... Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie nailed the mother and daughter dichotomy. Katie Holmes nailed her role, and the fact that she directed this is a testament to the depth of her talent. My daughter and I watched this movie and could connect with Rita and Ruthie, thankfully not because we've ever been so unfortunate, but because we've had each other through hard times. Nathalie Atkinson New York Magazine/Vulture Even in a rote story, with prosaic direction from Holmes, the lead performances ring true. Dec 9, 2016 Full Review Sheila O'Malley RogerEbert.com With her well-meaning desire to create an inspirational story of survival and redemption, Holmes has kept the entire film extremely low-stakes. Rated: 2/4 Dec 9, 2016 Full Review Stephen Holden New York Times A well-meaning but formulaic movie with not enough time to transcend predictable clichés. Dec 8, 2016 Full Review Joanne Laurier World Socialist Web Site Holmes should be commended for wanting to spotlight the condition of the homeless and indigent, but her distance from this population is too great and her artistic skill too limited at this point to save her film from its amateurishness. Aug 13, 2020 Full Review Ivy Lofberg Film Inquiry All We Had is an ambitious and conscientious feature debut for Holmes. Feb 18, 2017 Full Review Maria Vultaggio International Business Times Lacks the depth and drama of the source material. Feb 6, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews
