DanTheMan 2 As the ending of a trilogy, Always Sunset on Third Street '64 isn't that great, it feels more like the build-up to the finale but ends before we get there. It also gets very confused about what sort of messaging it wants to send towards how to treat your children, but it ties up all the hanging threads it starts without losing the shtick that made the first two so special in the first place. Great performances, exceptionally wholesome and very well directed, Yamazaki could very well deliver one more film if he so wished, but I respect him for leaving it as a very personal trilogy to both him and his viewers. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/07/23 Full Review William W Probably the final one in this warm series. This one is produced 7 years after the first one, but still with the same core team. Maintained the standard as the previous two, this one talk about family, relationship, neighborhood, and also succession. One of the best series of the Japanese movies in the past 10 years. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/12/13 Full Review Mongky M I must admit that I might rate this series with personal bias. Some touching scenes looked artificial, but i overlooked them as long as i enjoy and love this film. The movie was two and a half hours, i cried two hours.
